Brake Repair & Replacement
If your brakes are squealing, grinding, feel spongy underfoot, or the car pulls to one side when you stop, the system needs looking at. Worn pads are the usual culprit, but it can also be discs, calipers, or brake fluid that's past its best.
We inspect the full braking system, tell you exactly what's worn, and show you the old parts when we swap them.

Clutch Repair
A clutch that slips when you accelerate, feels heavy, judders when pulling away, or has a biting point right at the top of the pedal is on its way out. Leave it too long and you risk being stranded. We replace clutch plates, pressure plates, release bearings, and full clutch kits, and we'll check the flywheel while we're in there since a worn one will chew through a new clutch. Clutch replacement is a bigger job, usually a full day depending on the car, and we'll give you a firm quote and timescale before we start.
Engine Diagnostics
A warning light on the dash isn't something to ignore or just clear and hope. We plug into your car's onboard system to read the fault codes properly, then do the actual diagnostic work to find the root cause rather than throwing parts at it. Engine management lights, misfires, rough idling, loss of power, and poor fuel economy all start here. Diagnostics typically take an hour or two, and once we know what's wrong we'll explain it in and quote you for the fix before doing anything.
Exhaust Repair
A loud or droning exhaust, a rattle from underneath, or the smell of fumes usually means a section has blown, corroded, or come loose. A failing catalytic converter can also trigger a warning light and an MOT failure. We replace exhaust sections, back boxes, centre pipes, catalytic converters, and lambda sensors, and we'll only replace the part that's actually gone rather than the whole system. Most exhaust repairs are same-day jobs, and we'll always tell you straight whether it's something that needs doing now or can safely wait.
Suspension & Steering
Knocks and clunks over bumps, a car that bounces too much, uneven tyre wear, or steering that feels vague or pulls to one side all point to suspension or steering wear. We deal with shock absorbers, springs, wishbones, ball joints, anti-roll bar links, bushes, wheel bearings, track rod ends, and power steering faults. We'll also check and adjust your wheel alignment, which protects your tyres and your fuel economy. Turnaround depends on the parts, but most jobs are done the same day or next.
Electrical & Battery
Car electrics cause some of the most frustrating faults, from a car that won't start to flickering lights, dead windows, or warning lights with no obvious cause. If your battery keeps going flat, struggles in the cold, or the car cranks slowly, the battery or charging system is the place to start. We test batteries, alternators, and starter motors, trace wiring faults, and sort sensor and electrical problems across the whole car. Battery replacement is a quick job; tracing a wiring fault takes longer, and we'll keep you posted on what we find.
Air Conditioning
If your air con is blowing warm, taking ages to cool, smells musty, or isn't clearing the windscreen properly, it likely needs a re-gas or has a leak. Air con quietly loses refrigerant over time, so it's worth servicing every couple of years even when it seems fine. We carry out re-gassing, leak detection, and full air con servicing, including anti-bacterial cleans to clear out that damp smell. A standard re-gas takes around an hour; if there's a leak to track down, we'll quote you once we've found it.
Cambelt / Timing Belt
The cambelt is one of the most important services on your car and one of the most expensive to ignore. If it snaps, it can wreck the engine entirely, so it's a job to do on schedule rather than wait for symptoms. Most manufacturers set a mileage or time interval, and if you're not sure when yours is due, we'll check it for you. We replace cambelts, tensioners, and water pumps (which are usually best done at the same time). It's typically a full-day job, quoted upfront with no surprises.
